The megalomaniacal leader of the Decepticons finally gets the Masterpiece treatment that he deserves, and is fully transformable into a Walther P-38, as he was originally designed to be in both the Transformers G1 animated series and toy versions. Megatron's Walther P-38 gun mode is an oversized version of the gun in order for Megatron's robot mode to be in the same size and height as the Masterpiece Convoy/Optimus Prime. Megatron would certainly not be able to exude his intimidating presence in robot mode had Takara Tomy decided to go with an accurately-scaled representation of a Walther P-38, which would greatly reduce Megatron's height in robot mode.
In gun mode, albeit oversized, it is a perfect representation of a Walther P-38 semi-automatic pistol commonly used by the Germans during World War II (and by Lupin III...hmmm...!), and with hardly any visible toy-like attributes! The scope measures 23cm in length and comes with an LED light inside! The pistol also comes with a working trigger and safety lever.
In robot mode, Megatron measures 30cm tall to the top of his head and 34cm tall to the top of his gun barrel attached to his back. Megatron's robot mode is decked out with glorious mechanical detail and body proportions that are faithful to the animated show's design, most noteworthy being the brilliant work done on the head sculpt. Made of diecast metal and ABS plastic, this is a fully articulated action figure, right down to his individually posable fingers. He comes armed with an energy flail weapon, plus his blaster gun and laser dagger as used in the Transformers animated movie that dealt a fatal blow to Optimus Prime. A special Kremzeek figure is also included.

The long-awaited Transformers Masterpiece figure of the Decepticon/Destron Air Commander, Starscream, has finally been released! Unlike this original show, this new design is more "realistic" and has been visualized by Shoji Kawamori (the legendary mecha designer for the Macross series). Starscream's jet mode is a very accurate representation of an F-15 with excellent recessed and darkened panel line detail on the entire figure. Additionally, the jet engine nozzles are nicely detailed and the nozzles can be moved in all directions simulating thrust vectoring. The jet's radar dome can be removed to reveal the mechanism inside, and the flaps and ailerons are moveable, too!
Since this is a Masterpiece figure, the transformation process from jet mode to robot mode is fairly complex and will take some time to accomplish on your first couple of tries. When fully transformed, Starscream stands approximately 22 cm tall and is amazingly well-articulated right down to the moveable fingers. Starscream's chest can be lifted up to reveal the missiles just like in the TV animation series, plus his face part can be turned to reveal a sinisterly smirking expression. The only metal parts on this figure are some key joints and the base frame. The rest is made out of ABS plastic.
Accessories include a nicely detailed custom display base with stand, two pairs of Sidewinder missiles to replace the nullray guns in jet mode, a joint part for attaching Megatron in gun mode (not included, use the one that comes with MP-01 or MP-04) underneath jet mode Starscream, a sticker sheet for decorating Starscream with Decepticon logos, custom numberings, squadron logos, and caution stencils, and a figure of Dr. Archeville from the TV animation series for sitting in the pilot seat.
